New York Mills, “the eastern gateway to the lakes”, is located in the northeastern part of Otter Tail County along Highway 10. It is a small town of approximately 1,000 residents that are primarily of the Finnish descent. Our community is the birthplace of Lund boats and the Regional Cultural Center which hosts the “Great American Think-Off”. We are very proud of our school system…new high school addition in 1993, renovation of our elementary school shortly thereafter and most recently in the year 2000 the addition of a beautiful 500+ seat auditorium along with additional classrooms. Stop in and visit our community…you’ll find our remodeled city hall complex with a new fire hall and ballroom, a new medical clinic, the Eagles Café noted for its delicious pie, our home town bakery, public library, bowling alley, floral shop, and other businesses.
